39 week pregnancy update (warning: gross medical details)

Yesterday i had my 39 week doctor's appt. Here are the gory details...

She checked me and i was 1 cm dilated and 25% effaced. She did a vigorous "exam" and said she felt Price's hand up by his head. I guess when she touch his head he swatted at her hand with his hand...crazy!

We decided to set an induction date (even though she didn't think we would end up using it). I guess the hospital doesn't have a lot of induction spots right now b/c it's super busy in L&D. So, if Price doesn't come on his own...his eviction date is Monday, September 17th. Let's just all pray now that he doesn't choose that as a birthday. =)

That evening or i guess early this morning (2:30 am) when i visited the bathroom I discovered that i'd lost my mucous plug. According to my mom, for her she delivered a couple days after that event would happen. We'll see.

This morning we took a walk around the neighborhood with quade and i was having contractions very close together. Then they spread out and were irregular. We got ready for the day and then went to the galleria to walk around. Still having irregular contractions.

Tonight at dinner Bruce announces "well, this is our last dinner with just the 3 of us."Whoa, did that take me by surprise. He is correct. My mom arrives tomorrow (wednesday, sept 5th) and hopefully price will arrive soon after that. We will no longer be just a family of 3.

WOW! i have to admit i was a little sad (of course my emotional state is a little out of whack being pregnant). The three of us have such a great time together...BUT then i thought think of how much fun we'll have when we add another wacky macfadyen!

Laboring on Labor Day?

Well, here is the pregnancy update. Last night (Sunday, Sept 2nd) I started having more regular and intense contractions. They started 10 minutes apart and continued into the wee hours of the morning getting closer and closer. I tried to sleep but it wasn't easy. The closest the contractions got was 3 minutes apart. Then at about 4 am they stopped. oh well...

A similar scenario occurred when i was pregnant with quade (it happened about 4 days before my water broke). So maybe we will have a baby by the end of the week!?! But no labor day baby.

While getting some things for last minute "nesting" projects, we discovered that they have a special free program for kids the 1st saturday of the month at home depot...very cute.

I think I'm still tracking to be as big as I was with quade.


I have my 38 week appt this Thursday we'll see if I'm even close to delivering and what my doctor's thoughts are. Last time she guessed quade was 7 1/2 pounds...2 pounds off!


Another interesting bit of info...full moon this week! Hopefully my water doesn't break like last time! I'd like to wait to have this baby until after September 1st (for school reasons and so quade and price have bdays in different months at least!).

2nd birthday (sponsored by OnStar)

Today was the day...the official 2 year birthday. Here are the highlights of our day.

We started off with a few tantrums at home (i think one of quade's friends must have let him know that you can throw a lot of tantrums once you're two). Then we went and got his 2 year pics taken. I was extremely worried that he was going to throw a master tantrum at the kiddie kandids. However, it was a huge success. Here are a few of the pics:

As a reward for doing such a great job he got to ride the automatic firetruck at the mall (but he didn't want me to put money in it...okay by me!)

Then we met aunt andrea, cousin stephen and allison for lunch. Stephen was great and entertained quade during the meal by launching his airplane off the table:

The craziest adventure of the day was when i locked quade, my keys, and my cellphone in the car with the car ON! Did i mention that i'm 37 weeks pregnant and it was 97 degrees outside. Frightening!! However, thanks to the nice man (who had 2 daughters) that was in the parking lot who let me use his cell phone and i got ahold of OnStar (by the way 911 doesn't have their number, which is 1-888-4Onstar). Within 5 minutes the door was unlocked!! The nice man turned out to be an off-duty fireman! (which made quade very happy) THANK YOU FIREMAN! THANK YOU ON STAR!!

After a nap and a few afternoon tantrums we had dinner at Cheesecake Factory, finishing it off with delicious birthday strawberry shortcake! mmmm yummy!

We stopped by Barnes & Noble after dinner. Quade played with the train table and then ran up to the "stage" and said "Ladies and gentleman!"...hilarious
After all our activities Quade had fun when we got home playing with his presents from his grandparents!

The best birthdays end with a guitar and a firetruck!
