Our backyard...in process

so we've decided that most likely we will be at our house for at least 3 to 4 more years. since there are a few backyard projects that we've always wanted to do, we decided to do them now so we can enjoy them.
We wanted to take out some fencing, add some concrete for a larger driveway/bball court, automatic gate, larger porch, built-in grill, and some nice landscaping.

So we've started the project...the excavation and concrete has been poured.

The mason is here today, so i'll have more pics soon. I think Quade's favorite part of the project is over. What little guy doesn't love construction equipment?

A healthy tip

If i'm not going to go to fast food restaurants (as much) I needed quick and easy, healthy lunch ideas. Sooo I've been preparing a huge salad with veggies on Mondays when i get home from the grocery store. Then i just eat off the salad each day for lunch. it's been working so far.

My current "recipe" is below. feel free to add or remove whatever you want!

I also recommend raspberry walnut dressing.


Bagged romaine lettuce
chopped red pepper
chopped cucumber
hearts of palm
shredded carrots
chopped celery
chopped red onion
white beans



you can add chunks of chicken when you eat it for lunch if you need protein and don't like beans.

A word (or babble) in edgewise

With all the chatter boxes we have around our house it's hard for Price to get a turn to let us know what's on his mind. Last week while quade was still asleep i had a chance to hear price babble for the first time...so sweet!!
